Subject: Crops Are Quite Nice....

Swift Current, Sask
First peas are about a week away, and probably one of the best crops we've ever had. '04 may top this, but it will be close. Lentils look really good too, are still flowering, and are loaded with pods. Barley looks really good too, nice big heads, and it's not burning up, but it's short. Wheat is the same.

The durum is average at best. Very thin. No one is bragging about durum this year, not even guys on summerfallow. It may have been too cold and wet for too long especially the week when we had 6+" of rain.

Not much for straw, so the going should be good. How about the reast of your crops? I've noticed that the younger durum that got the hail on it really has come back and looks good concidering what happened to it. Gonna be late though....
