If you don't have any mapping software experience, I would start with Apex. It will save you a lot of frustration. It's not the greatest software and overpriced but there are no annual fees either.

I have the Mapshots software and it works well with GS2 but has a much higher learning curve than Apex, especially for someone with no mapping experience. During harvest I use Apex for quick maps and reports. Once I have time to play with and tweak the data more, I go to EASi Suite.

When setting up your farms and field names, each software package does things a little differently. You may need to think through how you set up your farm and fields. Ask others how they do it to get ideas. You also need to set up your varieties ahead of time to save time in the field.

I see you're in SW MN. Where are you located. I'm south or Redwood Falls.

Make plans to use this monitor in you planter as well.
