Camrose, Alberta | If you got Apex for your computer you should setup all your fields, crops, varieties, etc. That way when you pull into a field you just have to select them rather than type them in on the screen.
Plan on calibrating the yield monitor, three calibrations (loads) for each crop and then average the three calibration numbers. So if you don't have a scale, make arangements with a neighbor or elevator to use theirs.
Take a few hours before season to familiarize yourself with navigating a GS2 screen. It can be overwhelming if you have never done it before. Read the manual once, play around with the screen with the manual handy, read the manual again, then after you have used it for a while in the field and you get a day off (rain) read the manual a third time. Somebody on your farm needs to know the system inside and out, last thing you want to do is assume it is recording, get done and download the data to your computer and find there is nothing there. | |
