Central Illinois | I would think the biggest concern would be getting those late tasselers pollinated before the jap beetles or rootworm beetles eat the silks off, not sure of your location but here in central illinois we have been pretty fortunate as rootworm beetle emergence has been delayed by the cool wet spring. The Pros say we should see increased populations this week and next so keep a close eye on silk clipping. Insecticide is cheap compared to losing even $5 corn | |
