Not really a fool proof way to know until you kill off the cover but a good rule of thumb is about 4% of your above ground growth in pounds. If you have two tons of plant material above ground then about 4% of that will be N. Also depends if you incorporate it or just burn it down. Incorporation will get you more faster less later. Lots of variables weather, soil type, biological life in soil. WAG would be figure on 50 pounds.
