Rawlins County Kansas | On a 24-row non-DB there are chains on each side of the center section (right beside the tomahawks on the jack shafts). These chains have idlers on them and are poorly protected from corn stalks.
DD = double disk
This is the third different computer on the planter (not a total of three). The first one was messed up from day 1, the second lasted 5 days and this one has been working for about 10 days now so hopefully we have things running correctly.
My populations are more erratic than I would like but part of that is due to the fact that I"m dropping low rates 13.5K - 24K. Plus it seems that most of my seed is popcorn size this year and so I"m running really low vacumn which doesn't help. I think next year I'll have to look at Precision plates or JD's setup.
Adios,
