Subject: Value added $'s will go to seed companies

You are right on target with traited crops. This has been on the drawing board with input suppliers for as least the past two decades. Just recently there has been increased activity in schemes to share in the added value traits. For seed companies this is a real possibility. Imagine having your seed source as a partner sharing in your gain for added value traits that you receive a premium for in the value chain. Two outcomes:

If crop does not produce, you just pay for the seed.

If the crop does as advertised, then the seed company participates in your processor bonus premiums.

Sound too far out of the box? That very idea was patented by the US Patent Office in March 1008 and the patent is available to the public.
