Nth New South Wales Australia
Yes we do rely on stored moisture thats why we pulled up planting, all our crops have 2-3.5ft of moisture under them, however spring rain can really add a lot of yield.A few yrs ago we were part of a GRDC trial on measuring plant available moisture in the profile and our soils can have 240mm when wet to past 1 meter.During these trials test holes found wheat roots down to 1.8m from the previous crop.
The law is the same here now too Ham as we are in a cotton growing area so this summer I am going to have to use TT's as well. You are probably aware of a trial done two yrs ago by I think Kondinan Group that showed flat fans are still the best nozzle for grass control.Using LI700 can according to the label reduce fines,I use it anyhow as a water conditioner/wetter.
