Subject: Why do they Still get called conspiracy theories?

Napanee, Ontario
As if this is all just some Duke and Duke, only happens in the movies thing, and Eddie Murphy is going to wink at the camera and then everyone can breath a sigh of relief that is all just some crazy 'conspiracy' talk?

It's actually almost comical how quick people get on the defensive for these crooks that rob and steal from us all on a regular basis. Do people not read the news? Never heard of sub-prime crises? fx manipulation? Libor rate fixing? billions in settlements paid?

Here's the latest - JPM estimates legal losses could total $5.9B
http://www.cnbc.com/id/102132289#.

6 billion, no big deal considering how much they've likely made out the front end.

We have a reaction from a lot of people here that seem to laugh at posters that bring up the spectre of criminal malfeasance and market manipulation as if it's all the panderings of crackpot chicken little's.

Yea, hahaha - how stupid of them to believe that interested and motivated parties with the means and motivation do so, and the lack of material repercussions to act as deterrents (nearly a complete absence of director criminal liability) to prevent it, should ever believe that a market would be manipulated. The only notion that should be scoffed at is the position of willful ignorance peddled around here that 'it couldn't happen'.

It DOES happen. Every day. Every month, Every year, Every market. Read the news.

I have no idea if grain markets are being manipulated for insurance providers benefit, but there are some awfully smart and reasonable posts and posters illustrating the possibility of it, and with the track record of certain influential interests operating in these markets, i certainly wouldn't be surprised.

And just because it doesn't happen the same way twice, isn't evidence that it doesn't happen. Would you rob the same bank twice, at the same time, with the same approach? Maybe-- i guess when you have enough people convinced the bank isn't even getting robbed you can get away with a lot.
