S.C. Wisconsin
We used to feed steers, but when we expanded our dairy we felt we would get a better return on our feed by feeding the feed to our dairy cows. We since have gotten custom heifer raisers to raise our heifers. It has a lot to do with specialization and how much feed is available. We are going to start raising a limit number of steers to use up feed refusals from our dairy herd. We do raise our bull calves to weaning because we use Pasteurized waste milk to feed our calves.
