We feed out our dairy steers and I know a few others that do. I suspect its lack of land and facilities as quite a few have heifers custom raised for that reason. It's kind of funny but back when I was in college 20+ yrs ago, dad went a couple years getting mostly bull calves and said he needed to raise something. We have raised our steers ever since.
