E.Central MN | Here's a thought, maybe what producers need is an All Meats Checkoff equally funded by producers, packers, and retailers with a mission of using the media to promote the value and safety of US meats and refute anti-meat organizations and their publications. That way everyone in the chain from live animal to point of sale would share in the cost of the program. The other checkoffs would still be responsible for opening new markets for their particular animal type wherever they think they deem it necessary to fund market research. | |
