The smell of nitromethane takes me back to my first NHRA drag race at Firebird Race Way (or something like that) In Phoenix AZ. John Force was a young gun and Big Daddy Don Garlits was the old guy at the track. Also their was Shirly Muldowny, Warren Johnson, Bob Glidden Connie Kalitta, Don Prudhomme and all the other big names of the era.
