I call BS on that...I've had one since we bought this house 20 years ago, & if possible, I'll never be without one...yeah, it's a little trouble to take care of, & an expense once in a while, the heater burning up, some little thing like that...
My opinion is, it will make you live longer...
If you can, get it built into a room, mine is in a sun room on the south side. There's nothing like getting in the tub on a winter evening after working outside in the cold. Like somebody said above, it's a lot nicer if you don't have to contend with leaves & bugs.
If we were talking about swimming pools, I'd be in agreement with Bam, the only people who should have a pool are those who can afford to hire a pool man to take care of it...when my kids got out of high school & moved out, the pool here got de-commisioned...
I think this one is a Sundance, don't know if they're even in business still, but it's every bit of 30 years old, & still working...
