SE IL | Why not ask the guy. The worst he can do is say no. Tell him your concerns about safety. Don't bring up the lawsuit possibility-he can figure that part himself. If he won't do it or allow you to do it then call/visit county road dept. Tell them your concerns about safety and see what they say. If they hemhaw then tell them that if anything happens that the county/township could be liable as you have notified them of the issue. At that point you've done about all you can do.
If you can't get anything done and it really bugs you you could pay a midnight visit to drill some holes into the roots and fill with brush killer. It will take a while but should be effective. | |
