As far as your purchase of $1700 yearlings. The only way I see even a break even is to carry them unprotected and that is really a gamble. If there was a $150 potential profit I would think about it but not at break-even prices. I recently bought 17 head of 815 yearlings for $1600 only because they were from a neighbor.
