Subject: RE: Flooded pasture question

NW Illinois Stephenson county
Many many years ago I had bottom land pasture for dairy cows. Usually a shower would wash it off and the cows would eat it again. I ended up clearing the few trees that were on it and planted corn on it. When I plowed it, the grass grew like crazy. I think the silt from the floods was so fine, it starved the soil for oxygen. When it dries out I would suggest trying to aerate part of your pasture to see if it helps the grass to recover faster and potentially increase production of grass. Good Luck!
