Sandy Hook, MB | Hello Sodbustr
An old microwave oven & a triple beam balance scale can be your friend! Way too many variables to make a recommendation as to how long to wilt the swath before chopping. Take a moisture test & when it gets close to 65%, start chopping. If it's a light swath & real good drying weather, start chopping sooner, because before you know it, you'll have a pile of dust flying out of the chopper. It'll get too dry & be hard to pack. Do chop it though, verses rolling it up dry. You'll harvest more kgs of nutrients/acre. |
