Subject: RE: modular vs site built

I have to disagree. Your experience with one modular home builder does not condemn the whole industry. The house I ended with is very solid. My house is built with 2x6 walls and R50 attic insulation plus underfloor insulation which is unheard of in stick built in my area. The company delivered when promised and promptly craned the sections onto the foundation. They made the house water tight the same day. They spent approximately a month completing all the connections between the section and doing the final finishes and flooring while I spent that time completing the utility connections. Everything was complete and ready to move in in exactly the timeframe and cost they had discussed up front. My neighbor also built a modular a couple of years after mine but from another company and he is very happy with his as well.
