south central IOWA | My broken hand is frustrating the heck out of me. I hate feeling like I'm being lazy but pretty limited on what I can do. Found a job at the sod farm where I don't have to move a hydraulic lever every pass. It made my day mowing!
I got to thinking putting along. As you can see in the pictures that the grass isn't even (has some blank spots). Usually takes around a year and a half to 2 years for it to be good and ready to cut for sod.
They start mowing early on in the seeding. What if a guy let it go like you was establishing a pasture or hayfield and mow and bale it? Would the Bluegrass yield enough to be worth it and would it help with the blank spots to be able to fill in any faster? I would think you'd at least knock some seed off into them spots by baling.
I don't know..... Gotta think about something while you're in the tractor all day. :)
