Upper Midwest | I think you can make a profit on most any commodity if you have ins. and sell on the board for more than your inputs. $1550 feeders sold for $2500 with $500 feed cost and $100 fixed cost will turn a profit. If your numbers are different you can always sit on the sidelines and watch till things turn around. Now the guys milking cows and the cow calf really dont have that option. IMO. They are the ones in farming that really carry the risk. | |
