| I'd venture to guess you never will rebuild the cow herd. There gone. I've got just enough cows to respect what you guys go through. Yep.......... I wouldn't have any if it was about the money, but that applies to farming in general. Lots of years grain farmers worked for nothing. Milking cows, feeding cattle, raising hogs, it all the same story. I'm not about to whine during your profitable years. Sorry if I came across that way. My point of posting was to say I'm convinced when this cycle ends, and yes it will end, it won't be an increased cow herd that caused it. Now you tell me...................Farmer A buys the late fall futures on cattle. Farmer B buys 770lb steer calves for 1550$. Which one has the better chance of being profitable? Those are the figures I seen at the sale barn last week. I didn't just pull them out of thin air. Somebody's not thinking. My opinion. | |
