nc Ia. | Milk is high compared to what? I did a little googling and found this.
The highest-priced brand of milk I could find was Viva, at $3.79 for a gallon of 2 percent. That equals 3 cents per ounce.
A 64-ounce bottle of Gatorade (the biggest size on the shelf) was 4.7 cents per ounce. (The smaller bottles were 6.5 cents per ounce.)
A 64-ounce carton of Tropicana orange juice was 4.7 cents an ounce.
A new-age SoBe drink was 6.5 cents per ounce.
A bottle of Snapple Iced Tea was 6 cents per ounce.
The Capri Sun lunch-size drinks were 4.4 cents per ounce; ditto for Hi-C.
Evian bottled water was 8.6 cents per ounce, and Fiji Artesian water was 5.3 cents per ounce. (What? Water more expensive than milk?)
The cheapest 32-ounce carton of rice milk was 7.1 cents per ounce.
The cheapest 32-ounce carton of soy milk was 7.5 cents per ounce.
