Tip of the Thumb of Michigan

I had a friend that told his dad he was quitting and getting job is town, because he couldn't afford to keep going.  His Dad said "What? What do you mean?"  He had no idea he was treating his son so awful.  I was flabbergasted when I heard the details.    Things are better now.

I farm with my dad and it is 90% perfect as practically possible.  When you work together some things get old. I can tell you as a 40 year old that if it was crappy I would have to go out on my own, no matter how much he helped me get going.  If you have the option to enjoy your one and only life, you should enjoy it.  Fighting and working for a "maybe" is not enjoying life.

To the OP, tell him if you keep going the way it is, you could end up not talking to him again.  You would rather be able to have a father and son relationship for the rest of your life than to farm together and lose that.  Like other have said, you may have to eat anything he says, so not to burn any bridges as you part ways.
