Go tell him as respectfully as possible, that it just isn't working anymore and you want to quit relying on him for help(even if that's not true, it's how he sees it). You'll just do it yourself.
He will probably get angry. Stand your ground and don't back down. Hire someone else for combining or buy a combine.
Partnerships dissolve and neighbors quit working together all the time. Keep your temper, don't let it degrade to a shouting match. Speak more in sorrow than anger, apologize for not doing enough. Let him feel like he is still in control-that is what's important to him.
He thinks the farmwork and getting it done is more important than relationships. He will think that way until he is forced to change.
