sw ontario | Ontario COP in F-F is around $160 cdn. for a 265# mkt. hog --- a 1,000 head farrowing operation that breaks with PEDv will lose $200k---you don't need too much (5%) change in supply too have abull or bear mkt. move......some old barns are being shut down and some hog contractors (builders) are booked for this yr. already.......there has been lack of finishing space in Ontario for some time so lots of barns got filled too feed contract pigs that normally would have been bulldozed | |
