western iowa | We have it here on a pasture. It doesn't show up till late August but we vaccine in the spring with alpha 7 and don't see a problem anymore. I guess they say it lives in the soil usually along a water source like a creek. In the feedlot we had an episode of c and d toxemia one year. Very sad. Cattle can be perfect one minute and dead the next even while eating. Then they swell up real fast like a balloon. That was the one year we didn't vaccine with the 7way. I had a vet tell me you didn't need it in a feedlot situation. Boy that advice was wrong. | |
