I have heard calves are fine while nursing a momma that was vaccinated?
Momma needs to be vaccinated pre-calving every year. Have heard vaccinating momma is as effective/possibly more so than vaccinating newborn. Don't know for fact either way. Ask a vet.
FWIW, I vaccinated ewes annually pre-lambing, lambs at birth, and again at docking.
