Subject: Softwood fence posts

Warburg, AB
Wondering if anyone has a rundown of what is good or bad for fence posts - cedar is out of the option or right now, at the moment can't afford to get them trucked in.

Poplar - yay or nay if I need a post for 2-3 years (3 max)? Want to run some fence, if I can get it up this spring would be awesome, just not in the position to buy as many as I would like, and have some good straight poplar tht would work. Corner and brace posts would be the good stuff, that I want to do once and do it right.

Also have some spruce that would work (size-wise), little more work involved but not a big deal.
