Subject: RE: Lambing update

Mount Elgin, Ontario
You sound like me, hardly dare to leave cause the ewes must know when we go that its time to start pushing lambs off. We have 3 ewes to go with another 25 ewe lambs in April. How many lambs do you leave with the ewe before you start bottle feeding with multiple births? I know myself that I will be changing things for my next lambing season, I find that the ewes get dragged down very fast when leaving a set of triplets or quads on them. I talked to a local commercial producer who removes any lamb born after twins, just wondering what some others are doing. I am not looking for more work but I don't like seeing the smallest lambs fighting to get at mom for milk. What do you suggest? Not meaning to hijack your thread.

Regards
Neil
