Mount Elgin, Ontario | You sound like me, hardly dare to leave cause the ewes must know when we go that its time to start pushing lambs off. We have 3 ewes to go with another 25 ewe lambs in April. How many lambs do you leave with the ewe before you start bottle feeding with multiple births? I know myself that I will be changing things for my next lambing season, I find that the ewes get dragged down very fast when leaving a set of triplets or quads on them. I talked to a local commercial producer who removes any lamb born after twins, just wondering what some others are doing. I am not looking for more work but I don't like seeing the smallest lambs fighting to get at mom for milk. What do you suggest? Not meaning to hijack your thread.
