1 of my brothers inlaw (who is a cattle farmer too) likes to relate this story about this issue. I heard this story many times, but I can't remember the year, but about 30 years ago he sold 10 fat steers(@ $1,000) & took the $ & bought himself a brand new Ford pickup truck (@ $10,000). How many fat steers would you have to sell today to buy a brand new pickup?*
*Oh yeah, just a note that these are Canadian prices, where cattle are selling for 10 to 20% less than US cattle & pickup trucks cost 10 to 20% more than US pickup trucks do. |
