Subject: millet/sorghum sudan down south

N FLA
Anyone down south graze millet or sorghum sudan? Traditionally around here millet is planted about August to come in when pasture grasses are low quality. Millet is preferred I am told because it won't get so tall and cows will stick with it. Compared to cows kind of giving up on sorghum Sudan.

Situation is I have some grass pasture when rye plays out. But more cows than grass. I'm going to plan B and keep the bred cows and pairs with light calves instead of selling in April or May. Our corn planting date is March 1 (for reference) and I'm thinking I can plant this about March 15 and soil and temps are warm enough.

Anybody have experience or advice to share either way?
