OMAHA, Neb., Feb. 5, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. (GPRE) announced today its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2013. Net income for the quarter was $25.5 million, or $0.65 per diluted share, compared to net income of $6.7 million, or $0.21 per diluted share, excluding a non-recurring gain, for the same period in 2012. Reported net income and diluted earnings per share for the fourth quarter of 2012 included a gain on the sale of certain agribusiness assets of $26.3 million, after tax, or $0.73 per diluted share. Revenues were $712.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2013 compared to $883.7 million for the same period in 2012.

Net income for the full year was $43.4 million, or $1.26 per diluted share, compared to $11.8 million, or $0.39 per diluted share for the same period in 2012. Revenues were $3.0 billion for the full year of 2013 compared to $3.5 billion for the same period in 2012.
