The capitalist (free market) system is the best system humans have contemplated for allocating resources in the present.

But akin to Galileo telling the Pope under his voice "but it still moves", I am amazed that you haven't learned that there are two things that capitalism does not do well

(1) Income distribution

(2) Asset allocation over time.

Yes, we can steal from our grandchildren but it is not by borrowing but by not properly valuating a finite reserve. We can and are burning up eons of stockpiled fossil fuels without concern for future generations.

Yes, borrowing is deferred taxation in some cases but not in the Keynsian liquidity trap.

However in the cases of Republican presidents who have historically run up the biggest debts in history at times when the economy had room for taxation. It is the Republican party that is the borrow and spend party.
