To deal with a propane crisis that has more than doubled the price, State Representatives Joe Riding of Altoona and Todd Prichard of Charles City are filing an emergency bill.

It will provide an additional $1 million to help Iowans struggling to pay for the huge increase in cost.

Representative Riding says the idea is getting bipartisian support.

They hope to get the bill filed by Tuesday, or Wednesday at the latest.

To apply for home heating assistance, Iowans can go to their local Community Action Agency or call 1-877-565-4450 for more information."

Well, prices will not drop now. Another good intended program to help people that need it, ends up in the pockets of propane manufacturers and distributors that have cause this high priced gas. Prices won't drop if there is government support for getting the propane bills paid.
