Ontario's middle east | Another thing to remember with DP is, that elevator might have sold that grain in the heat of the harvest battle because they were full and they had to keep your combine going. Basis may have improved since then and they are on the wrong side of a sale made, not because they thought it was a good sale, but because they were providing service to you the farmer. Hindsight is always a great thing in these situations but not knowing when or how many bushels are coming is where the art of merchandising comes in. I know you can say, that's the elevators problem, they sold it too cheap, but, they are going to restrict the bleeding as much as they can and that is your problem. | |
