west Nebraska northeast Colorado | An 8450 does have a gear driven water pump and if the weep hole is plugged with dust and the seal goes out you will dump the coolant into the engine oil. (Don't ask how I know.) I make sure the weep hole is clean, put a small piece of foam into the weep hole (with a bit of foam sticking out), and check to make sure the foam is there and not wet each time I check the engine oil. Other than that, have 12,000+ hours on mine (8000 hours on rebuilt engine after the water pump problem) and it has been a good tractor. |
