little Joe I know exactly where your coming from. I also am a small farmer 240 acres with a job up town and have farmed for 30 plus years. The first 25 years were all about survival and i always wondered how I would be able to get my kids through college. When I went to college in the late 70's it took about 2000bushels of corn to go for a year and and the last 5 years its took between 2 and 3thousand per year to put my kids through its actually not been that hard. It bothers me big time when I hear guys who farm 2 and 3 thousand acres complain how much it costs to send their kids to college. I have all kinds of friends who work a toro, drive truck or work in stores or gas stations etc. I never hear most of them complain they just do what they have to do. Your absolutely right it's the whining and complaining that I hate.
