Are nh8970 did the same thing. We went and got a new plug. Drill and tap 3/8 hole in the new plug. Then we retapp the pan. And kb weld the new plug in. It worked good until we got time change the pan out. The 3/8 hole plug was putt so we good change the oil. If pan is like mine you have to be careful when tightened.
