with a tandem axle volvo or freightliner century and a cheap 12000$ or thereabouts hopper the difference between a single axle and a tandem price wise would be so small I wouldnt fool with it myself.The legalities would be more important because no matter what some say these weight laws are in place for a reason.No matter what you buy safety has to be your fisrt objective espcially if you have your wife drive.$32000 give or take can put you in a pretty decent truck its up to you to weigh that out against your operation
