I believe on the 8100 the auto front wheel assist is only disengaged at speeds above 11 mph or if the brake is applied. I will probably try mounting the antennae on the front of the hood. Outback recommends it on the cab, for whatever reason, but I think it may correct more accurately closer to the steering axle. My buddy with the JD SF1 equipment is able to punch in a setting to read the GPS Signal a certain distance in front of the receiver. I can't remember how far out in front of the tractor he is reading, but he claims that is the setting that made his auto-steer work. The S2 doesn't have a setting for this.
