Eastern Half of Kansas | What do you guys typically run for RPM's on the header? We change when we go back and forth between alfalfa and grass. We mow some of everything alfalfa, fescue, brome, crp prairie, haven't mowed any sudan/cane since getting it. So I want to hear from the western guys with alfalfa and you guys back east in the humidity mowing grass and grass mix. Also this will vary by machine but are you guys able to throttle down sometimes, most all times depending on crop. We have NH HW365 with 15.5ft disc. Alfalfa I was mowing at 1800 engine rpm and 2000 header rpm. Brome we're running 2100 to 2150 engine(2150 is full throttle) and 2500 header rpm. We don't have many other machines around and the dealers out west that ~60 miles are running in mostly prairie grass. We kind of taught ourselves, didn't know if we were running about right, or out of line. TIA | |
