southern MN | I don't get it. We are using less fuel, we are about at the limit of ethanol usage allowed, we just had one of the worst crop years ever and still have enough corn for both food and fuel...
In addition to the other good points made by others.
I remember corn well below 2 bucks here, folks laughed and said why grow so etching below cost, as they bought the corn.... Folks complained about the govt paying farmers for subsidy schemes, as those grain bank programs pushed the price of corn even lower, which folks loved to buy for cheap. Folks said dont cry corn farmers, just find something to do with your corn....
And now, oh, woe, corn is too high priced for everyone.......
Pffffft.
China and the rest of the world is swimming in value compared to our devalued dollars, protecting our banks and auto makers from ruin has made our dollars worth very little. We are competing with them for food, not ethanol.
But, many continue to support Big Oil, and the Mideast, and want to put their dollars there when they do not grasp reality.
