Western Illinois | It is time that we need to buy 2 or 3 new bale rings for the cattle. We have always used the regular style hay rings in the past with good luck but of course we had a good amount of waste. We purchased a loader tractor this last year so we feel like we want some type of hay saver cone type rings. When i have done my research it looks like there are a ton of options from a regular 8' hay ring with a cone insert to the rings with them built it. I definately dont want to buy the cheapest but dont want the most expensive either. Our local dealer sells the Bextras but they look like once the cows eat the outside third the rest falls down in and you will have the same problems with waste. Whats everyones opinions of a good long lasting ring for our use. One have 20-25 cows and feed from mid December- April. They will be sitting n a concrete pad and will not get moved very frequently. Will be feeding grass hay bales. | |
