Sunnyside, WA | The hydraulic cylinders are definitely for the rocks--especially the field he was doing at the time of the picture. Works with a nitrogen accumulator charged by the tractor hydraulics. Walks right over rocks. All of our corn is chopped for silage and double cropped with triticale in the winter for silage in the spring. Pockets don't bother the chopper, but trucks can feel it. We don't dammer dike the triticale as its too hard on the disc mower and rakes.
I was late starting the pivot because we had to wait for the field to be sprayed first. 95 to 100+ weather hasn't helped, but the water is running now and won't stop much until the corn is chopped.
