Ok, I feel pretty stupid! I thought it had to be something bigger, and with legs. Our NH disc windrower gets lots of birds as well, and I got my first fawn for the year. Didn't even hear the machine grunt or see anything. Pretty well ruined my day too. At least it was instantaneous

We had an old JD 800 for years. When my son was around 14 or so he got a fawn about half way through the crimper. I guess it made a real racket. He had to finish it off with a crescent wrench. If nothing else he saw what a machine could to a living thing, made quite an impression on him.

I put a snapping turtle through once, it just grunted. The machine that is.
