Same for me, cut the first of it yesterday too. Some winter kill and am thinking of no-tilling sorghum sudan after hay is off and then plow up this fall. Going for quantity and quality for the beef cows, especially with this first cutting.
A person has to balance the quality loss from getting rained on. Many times cutting at a lower quality will result in baling at a higher quality.
It's the harvested quality that counts.
