N. E. Indiana
We have seeded in the spring as late as the 10th of june and had good luck, just won't get a second cutting. I put on 18 lbs of alfalfa and 6 lsb of timothy in the grass seeder on the drill, then mix some brome grass in with the oats at about a 10-1 ratio of oats to brome. I try and plant close to 60 lbs of that mixture per acre. Bale the oats when they head out and wrap. Great feed and with any luck you will get a second cutting on the first year. just be sure it has time for planty of regrowth before the first frost.
