OK, I know the odds are against making hay today. So I decided to look at it as an experiment, took a small sloping patch of mostly grass and cut it this morning. I figure if it does not dry fully before the rain predicted for Tuesday evening I'll just make a couple smaller bales and feed it to the cows or steers as in my experiment below. As a novice at this I need to find a way to cut these small odd shaped patches without driving over the windrows so much. fwiw here's a picture. Not as beautiful as DodgeFarmBoy's alfalfa but it sure was nice to see the sun, feel a nice breeze and smell the hay. Thanks for all the advice. Jim
