No, that is not a joke. I speed up. I won't swerve to hit, swerving is just stupid no matter what the intended result is. If it was a moose or a cow, probably swerve but deer and small animals. not a chance. The risk outwieghs the reward. I believe every pickup should have a stout grill guard on front. I have whacked several deer and an antelope unintentionally and sustained no damage. I went into a ditch once trying to avoid the road and felt very lucky to come out with 4 wheels on the ground and my life. And I got to work on the front end there after. Never again will I swerve...
A stout cow catcher is worth every penny, I do my best to run over antelope . They are everywhere around here and are nothing but pest like the prairie dog .
